AFTER CARE PROCEDURES & PRODUCTS

The Sterex range of aftercare products are specially formulated for their antiseptic, healing and soothing properties.

Aloe Vera Gel

This cool soothing and light gel with its refreshing lemon grass fragrance contains 95% liquid extract of Aloe Vera.  It is recommended for use after treatment prior to the après creams and is suitable for general moisturising as well as after waxing, IPL or laser treatments.

Witch Hazel Gel

This product contains 80% liquid extract of natural witch hazel in a cool soothing gel.  It is easy to apply and quickly absorbed, it is recommended after treatment prior to the après creams.  Renowned for its antiseptics properties this gel can be used in a wide variety of applications such as stings and bites.

Après Cosmetic Cream

Formulated for after use after treatment the mildly medicated après creams helps calm and skin redness.  Available In two colour choices original light tint and medium tint, clear tint containing triclosan is also available for underarm or bikini areas.

We use ‘Sterex needles’ and the full range of professional hygiene products to ensure your comfort and safety, as part of the special care we take to protect your skin from infection.

A good programme of hygienic home care will avoid any spots or minor infections occurring.  It is important for you to remember to take extra care of the treated area, especially within the first 36/48 hours giving the skin a chance to settle and to allow it to return to normal.

One of the STEREX Après Cosmetic Aftercare Range has been applied to the treated area immediately after your treatment. This range has been specifically formulated to use after Electrolysis to soothe your skin, and help prevent any infection of the treated follicles which will be more prone to infection after the hairs have been removed.
The STEREX Après Cosmetic Creams should be left undisturbed for at lest 24 hours.  Further applications can be made if required.  The STEREX Après Tinted Creams can also be
used instead of foundation.  ALWAYS use a small clean pad of cotton wool to apply the cream, and use a fresh pad for each area.

Use of Make-up

The skin should be left for a sufficient period of time for healing to take place before any make up is applied.  It must always be removed gently and safely with unperfumed products that are suitable for sensitive skins.  Lotions are less prone to promote infection than cream products.

Exposure to U.V.A

It is also advisable to avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or to a sunbed treatment for at least 48 hours.  If necessary a high factor sun protective cream should be used.

Bleaching

If you use a product to bleach the downy growth between treatments it should not be applied for at least 48 hours. And it is preferable if you avoid at all the use of bleaching during the period of Electrolysis treatments as sometimes bleaching can disturb the good results obtained from the treatment.

Re-Growth

Hair should not be plucked or waxed or removed with any depilatory creams or electrical epilators between treatments.  It is safer to simply cut any noticeable hairs with scissors as advised by the therapists.

Skin care

A rich night cream or moisturiser should not be applied for 48 hours.  After this time the area can be massaged to promote the healing process to complete recovery of the treated area.  If a rash or minor infection appears at any time on the treated area an antiseptic cream as recommended by the therapists can be used. Cortisone/steroid cream or same should not be used.

It is IMPORTANT to REMEMBER THAT HANDS MUST BE WASHED BEFORE AND AFTER TOUCHING THE TREATED SKIN AREAs.

Terms & Conditions:

• An Initial Consultation is mandatory for Electrolysis, and this allows the therapist to assess the skin and hair condition with the medical history to plan a tailored programme to suit each individual.
• After Care products are also mandatory to care for the treated skin after treatment and must be purchased at the first treatment. A topical anaesthetic cream can be used on treated areas with very high sensitivity at an additional cost to be discussed during the consultation time.
• Courses must be paid in full at the first treatment. They are valid for 6 or 10 months respectively from the date of purchase.
• Missed sessions, appointments cancelled without providing 24 hours notice & amended 2 or more times will be considered as used sessions.
• Cancellation fee or No Show Fee £15 will apply if no notice is provided.
• Refunds are NOT available in such circumstances.
