At The Beauty Therapy Room we encourage the use of fake tanning because it by-passes damaging and potentially dangerous sun exposure but it is always important to use top quality products to achieve the most natural looking results. This is why we use St. Tropez because it has provided the highest quality sunless tanning products and equipment to the professional market place for over twenty years.

The products are aloe vera based which soothe, hydrate and nourish the skin for a healthy and natural sun kissed glow with no fear of looking orange or streaky. We are pleased to be able to offer our clients both the St. Tropez Lotion Treatment and St. Tropez Airbrush Treatment. You will find below more information about the treatments themselves as well as preparatory and aftercare instructions.

St Tropez Lotion Treatment

The Original St. Tropez Lotion is a self-tan that touch-dries in just 30 minutes and within 24 hours brings out a deep natural looking tan without unnecessary and damaging sun exposure. This is a relaxing hands-on treatment that produces the deepest tan of the St. Tropez range.

St Tropez Airbrush Treatment

St Tropez Airbrush treatment is a light spray which touch-dries in 60 seconds leaving you with an even, beautifully natural finish. It is the perfect for achieving a healthy glow for that special occassion or in preparation for the holidays.

So What is Involved in the St Tropez Treatment?

1. We perform a mandatory full body exfoliation using St. Tropez Body Polisher to ensure your tan develops and fades evenly.
2. We moisturise any dry areas of skin, such as elbows, knees, feet and hands, with St. Tropez Body Moisturiser to ensure your tan is even and no patches or streaks to be shown.
3. The self-tan is then applied by the therapist to the desired depth of colour either by hand or by a spray machine. Depending on the client’s choice of the depth of the tan, we canadjust and tailor the application accordingly.

Before For Your Treatment…

As with all beauty regimes, a little preparation goes a long way; the following advice will ensure you get the most from your St. Tropez Tan:

• To ensure an even result your skin must be clear of any previous self-tan products. This can be done by few exfoliations at home a week before the salon treatment.
• Ensure any hair removal treatments, such as waxing or shaving, as well as manicure & pedicure, are completed a minimum of 24 hours prior to the application of your St. Tropez Tan.
• Waxing can remove old tan successfully especially on the legs, ankle and bikini areas.
• Please refrain from using any perfumed products, such as deodorants, moisturisers, perfumes etc, on the day of your treatment as these may affect the resultant colour.
• Important & Necessary: Make sure to bring with your loose dark clothing to wear after the treatment, and especially some loose fitting shoes too. Boots, trainers are not ideal as feet can sweat and the tan streaks.
• NB: the colour can stain nylon, linen, silk and wool.
• Disposable paper tangas are provided for use during both types of tanning treatment. For our male clients, we recommend that you bring with you some old swimwear to wear during the treatment.
• For health and safety, clients will be provided with a breathing mask for airbrush treatments. If you have any breathing problems or medical conditions, please make sure to inform the therapist at the beginning of the session as they may interefere with the treatment.

After Your Treatment…

It is very important to follow these instructions to ensure your St. Tropez Tan looks its best and fades evenly:

• Do not shower, swim or take part in activity that causes perspiration for at least  24hours after your treatment to ensure long lasting results and avoid any streaks from forming.
• Your colour will continue to develop for the next 24 hours and can be left on overnight (the product uses vegetable dye and should wash out of cotton bed linen and bed sheets).
• When showering for the first time after the treatment, rinse thoroughly your body until the water runs clear before using any cleansing products. Colour may look paler at this point but the water should only rinse off the excess amount of colour product present on the surface of the skin. Pat dry with towel after shower and moisturise your body with St Tropez Body Moisturiser.
• Do not use any perfumed products and those containing essential oils, e.g. soaps, shower gels, moisturisers, deoderants, perfumes etc, for 24 hours after your treatment to ensure even and long lasting colour.
• After your treatment we recommend exfoliating every other day so that the tan fades evenly.
• Remember: The St Tropez Tan Lotion or Airbrush DOES NOT contain any SPF, therefore you will need to use protective sunscreens while you are on holidays or out and about.

Moisturise To Maintain & Improve!

• To prolong or obtain a darker shade the St. Tropez Everyday Moisturiser is a great home care product.
• A gentle hydrating moisturiser for the face and body, it contains a touch of self-tan to help keep that healthy looking radiance.
• Alternatively St. Tropez Moisturiser contains L-Tyrosine – a tan accelerator that activates the production of melanin in your skin to accelerate both self-tans and natural tans.
• It can help to maintain your St. Tropez tan when used daily or on its own every day for two weeks prior to a holiday to encourage natural tans to develop faster.

Top-up At Home & Continue To Glow!

We understand that life is demanding and it isn’t always convenient to come in salon to top-up your St. Tropez tan, which is why we also recommend a range of St. Tropez Self-Tan products perfect for home application. These products canbe purchased from various big department stores.
